Acronyms are words formed from the initial letters or groups of letters of words in a set phrase or series of words that are considered or pronounced as a separate word.
 
 

They cause a lot of confusion and difficulty to English learners who has to apply to grammar rules, vocabulary, spelling and pronunciation and added to that those acronyms.

What makes acronyms really tough to get is that the only way to sort them out is to memorize what they stand for.
 
 
Tip: we use the verb “stand for” when we explain an acronym.
